Client: City of Aurora
Description:
I successfully won this project for my firm by writing the winning request for proposal submission and presenting to the selection committee for an interview.
The project began with a full facility audit and assessment to document the options for a potential remodel or full facility replacement, including the aquatic features. Based on the age and condition of the building the client agreed to a majority facility replacement, with the exception of the basement pool equipment room that is salvaged.
The project includes the remodel of the existing bathhouse basement and replacement of the first floor of the bathhouse. The bathhouse design compliments the adjacent elementary school with a Mid-Century style. During the design phases it was discovered that the project was over budget and I was successfully able to provide value engineering services to assure that the project would fit within the client's budget. The project also includes the replacement of a non-code compliant wading pool with a new sprayground and minor improvements to the existing pool.
